On Friday, June 28th, a group of hams gathered together with Rick Troutner KFØFND’s family to honor Rick as the 2024 ARRL Nebraska Ham of the Year. Special thanks go out to Jared Gaedke NØSPC for organizing the event and to all the hams who came out to help honor Rick. And thank you to Matt Anderson KAØBOJ and the Nebraska ARRL for presenting the award.
Also a big thank you to my sister Kristen, brother-in-law Rick, and their kids Jacob, Audrey, and Jackson for making the trip from Colorado to surprise Dad at the event.
My dad loves doing all his amateur radio activities so for him to have received this honor shows what an impact he is making on the hobby, even when he might not realize it. Thank you to everyone who supports this website, his meet and greets, and everything he does. It brings me so much joy to know how much he’s appreciated by his fellow hams.
I hope everyone had a good time at the event. I know I did.
